Red Cross and Red Crescent intensify aid and make plans for a speedy recovery in Haiti. A mass emergency response operation for Haiti which was devastated by an earthquake last January 12.
More than 400 Red Cross Red Crescent qualified members have arrived Port-au-Prince and dozens more are on their way. It is important to highlight that the Red Cross will send volunteers and qualified personnel from the closest countries and/or those with specifically required abilities.
These efforts are the response to the Red Cross Red Crescent International Movement, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The ICRC distributed medical supplies for over 2,000 patients at the Haitian Red Cross and hospitals. Over 23,000 people register at ICRC website to restore contact with family members separated since the disaster
