The 9th edition of the Premium event on Mining in Argentina, International Convention on Business Opportunities in Exploration, Geology and Mining, “Argentina Mining 2012”, will take place September 4-6, 2012, in Salta Province. The convention will be at the Conventions Center from Salta, located at the entrance of the city on the road that leads to International Airport Martín Miguel de Güemes.

On the previous day –September 3- a Seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility in the Mining Industry will take place in the Alejandro I Hotel, in Salta. It will be held during the Argentina Mining Convention, and organized by Argentina Mining, The National University of San Martín, National University of Salta, Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and Latin America Body of Mining. The course is aimed to Senior Officials of Institutions and Companies, as well as to professionals and academicians linked to mining activities and education related to the sector.

Argentina Mining is the premium international meeting of the mining sector in our country and it takes place biennially since 1996. Mining conferences have taken place in South America since 1995, and Argentina Mining 2012 will be the ninth edition of this important event in our country. Previously, also Bolivia Mining 95, 99 and 2001 and Ecuador Mining 97 were held.

Argentina Mining is an excellent opportunity to establish business contacts; to promote mining properties; to offer products and services; to become informed on mining regulation and policies, as well as to be updated in the evolution of mining projects and exploration plans, everything in a fully focused mining environment, alongside its key players.

In this event, the main referents of the mining activity in Argentina will be present. An exhibition of more than 2500 m2 will be held, and more than 400 companies will be participating. The international Convention, Argentina Mining 2012 was declared of provincial interest by the Government of Salta, and was also declared of interest by the Honorable Chamber of Deputies from Salta.

The event will be addressed to executives from mining companies operating in Argentina or evaluating the region, as well as providers searching for business opportunities. More than 50% of the attendees hold management positions.

In keeping with tradition, the attraction of the event is its program. More than 40 executives and Government representatives will be part of the conference program that will include mining projects, currently active companies, CSR experiences –exploration and exploitation-, environment, Government policies, and legal and financial issues, among other topics. The key issues to understand the mining activity in Argentina will be provided.
