Why San Juan?

Nowadays, San Juan is one of the most important provinces in mining. It has demonstrated a permanent support to the development of the mining activity in the country through its promotion policies and control of the activity.
Today, it has two gold mines in production, Veladero and Gualcamayo, and two more began their construction in 4Q of 2009, Pascua Lama and Casposo, plus countless exploration projects.
Also, the activity has the strong support of the local government.
For all these reasons, after having opened the Argentina Mining Convention twice in the province, in 2006 and 2008, the Organization decided that for 2010 the whole event will be hosted in San Juan.
